1. Purpose of This Website
Summit County Residents Directory is a privately run reference service. It identifies and links to public rolls, record indexes, and directory collections relevant to current or former Summit County residents. It does not host government records and has no connection with a government office, court, or records custodian.
2. Acceptable Use
Use this site only for lawful purposes. You may not use it, or information reached through it, to:
- Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm any person
- Locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order
- Commit identity theft or fraud
- Make FCRA-regulated decisions, including credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions
- Scrape, copy, or republish the site's content at scale
- Interfere with the site's operation or security
3. Not a Consumer Reporting Agency
This site is not a consumer reporting agency as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. Nothing on this site, including material returned by a linked search tool, is a consumer report. It may not be used to assess eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or any other FCRA-covered purpose.
4. Outside Services
Government portals and third-party services, including sponsored search tools, operate under their own policies and terms. We are not responsible for their content, availability, charges, or data practices.
5. No Warranties
The site is offered "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. We do not promise that its content is accurate, complete, or current, or that an outside portal will remain available or provide correct results.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages resulting from use of this site or a linked resource, including decisions based on records reached through it.
7. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold the site operators harmless from claims or demands, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising from your misuse of the site or breach of these terms.
8. Intellectual Property
The site’s original text, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. You may link to a page and quote brief excerpts with attribution, but you may not republish full pages or systematically copy the content.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these terms by posting the new version here. Your continued use after a revision is acceptance.
10. Ending Access
We may limit or block access, without notice and at our discretion, when a user violates these terms or abuses the service.
11. Governing Law
Ohio law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The Ohio Public Records Act, O.R.C. § 149.43, sets rules for access to many public-office records; it does not make this private site a records custodian or require us to obtain a record.
12. Severability
If any provision of these terms is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
